Breakdown vans were stationed at larger loco depots and housed material to assist at derailments.

These vans kept their original classification until 1957 when the "HH" class was assigned.

HH 1 - 6 were converted from OO open wagons in 1957

HH 7 - 12 were converted from TT box vans in 1957
